Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional Therapy is a form of Complementary Medicine which can help with many different conditions. It seeks to alleviate or prevent illness through dietary modification. 'We are what we eat' is remarkably true. 90% of our body renews itself every 3 months and the building materials come from the food we eat. This is why good nutrition is paramount to good health.

Most of us try to eat a healthy diet but get confusing messages from the media about what we should and shouldn't eat and which supplements we should be taking.

A Consultation with a Nutritional Therapy Adviser will provide you with an individual programme suggesting foods that may improve your health and if necessary recommend nutrients or herbs to help rebalance your body and strive towards optimal health.

Nutritional Therapists believe that everyone functions differently, has different nutritional requirements and tolerates foods in different ways.

Most conditions may be helped through Nutritional Therapy. Some of the most commonly encountered conditions are:

Basic Programme

Prior to the consultation, you will be asked to complete a simple questionnaire detailing your symptoms and health history together with dietary and lifestyle habits. The initial consultation lasts about 1 hour. At the end of the first consultation you will have an initial programme based on verbal advice to start working with. Following this you will receive a comprehensive written report with further recommendations. The follow-up consultation usually occurs about 4 weeks later and lasts approximately 30 minutes. This will involve a review of the progress so far plus formulating a further programme if necessary. Price - £95

12 Week Support Programme

The 12 week support programme offers all features of the basic programme plus weekly telephone and/or email support for 12 weeks. There are 2 follow up meetings, one 6 weeks into the programme and one at the end of the 12 weeks in which any areas that need addressing can be discussed and further advice and recommendations given. This added support provides a fantastic opportunity to implement the changes with the full support of the therapist helping you make lifelong habits of healthy nutrition. Price - £255

Online Nutritional Therapy

We also offer an online service. This involves emailing a questionnaire for you to complete detailing your symptoms and health history together with dietary and lifestyle habits for. This is then followed with telephone consultation at a mutually convenient time when you can discuss in detail with our therapist your needs. Verbal instructions will be given at that time for you to start to implement. This will be followed with a detailed report emailed to you which will give full recommendations for you to follow. Tricia Robinson C H Ed (Dip.Nut.Ad)

Mother of three, Tricia Robinson, has taught dance for 18 years. She is a Fellow of the International Dance Teachers’ Association.

As a former migraine sufferer for many years, Tricia became interested in nutrition as a way to relieve this condition and found that changes in lifestyle and awareness of nutrition alleviated the problem where orthodox medication had failed.

Feeling passionate about this revelation, she went on to study Nutritional Therapy with the internationally renowned Kevala Centre qualifying as a Nutritional Therapy Adviser. She is now a Member of the Complementary Medical Association whose primary aim is to promote ethical, responsible, professional complementary medicine to the public and the medical profession.

Apart from her passion for nutrition, Tricia’s hobbies include trekking (dales or mountains), jogging and yoga. She lists one of her greatest achievements as completing The Great Outdoors Challenge in 2006 with her partner, Pete that entailed backpacking across Scotland from west to east coast in 15 days.
